Policies Specific to the Masonry Drop-in Program:

  1. You must sign off on the OMTC Code of Conduct if you are new to the OMTC. If you have already attended OMTC and signed off on the Code of Conduct, OMTC will confirm, and you can proceed.  Any violation of the code may result in immediate dismissal from the program.  It is in place to protect and keep safe all the individuals that attend OMTC.
  2. There is a 24-hour window to cancel a time slot reservation. If you can’t make it to the time slot you signed up for you will be able to cancel it up to 24 hours prior.
  3. i. If for some reason you cannot cancel prior to the 24-hour window, you must contact the training centre by email or phone to indicate you will not be able to make it.
  4. ii. If you do not advise OMTC of the cancellation, and you do not show up for the booking it will be counted as absenteeism or no show.
  5. Absenteeism/No show: if you are absent three (3) times without cause and notification, you will be removed from the program.
  6. Lateness/early departure: if you are late for your booked time or leave part way through your session, three (3) times, you will be removed from the program.
  7. For new entrants: If you cannot attend 6 time slots (24 hours) over a two-week period, you will be called for a meeting with the training director. If you cannot commit you to 6 sessions over two weeks you will not be able to complete the program withing the 120-day timeframe.
  8. You must clean up your work area before you leave as someone else may be using that space in the next time slot. If you do not clean up, after two reprimands from the instructors you will be asked to leave the program.
  9. You can book back-to-back time slots if they are available
  10. You can only book 2 weeks in advance
  11. If you are coming in as an apprentice, former pre-app student or journeyperson you will be limited to booking 10 time slots. Once you have reached your limit you will need to have a discussion with the instructor on your progress/improvement and with the Training Director if you wish to extend your use of the program.
  12. No electronics in the shop.
